Alice Anderson was born in November 1976 in England and lives in London. She was brought up in the South of France. After her diploma at the Beaux-Arts of Paris she was noticed by the Yvon Lambert gallery which represents her in France. The exhibition Crossings at the Paris Modern Art Museum, the Gilles Dusein prize (Video and photography) for young artists in 2002, her one-woman show at the Frac PACA and at the Marnay Art Centre, 2003, her solo show at the Pompidou Centre, as well as her degree from the prestigious Goldsmiths College of London, 2004, make for a remarkable entrance in the art world.

Her creations span several art forms, from video to photography, to publishing, and drawings. She has been building a kind of novel since 1999 in which each episode is a self-contained personal, poetic and absurd Adventure.

The form for her short videos can be likened to Japanese Haikus in which the spectator is caught up by the uncanny experience of the artist.

Her long videos are Tales exploring images that come from childhood. Which can be read as little Freudian fables that refer to themes as different as Metamorphosis, Dreams, Fear, Narcissus
or Peter Pan.
