IMAGE 1 and 2 - Rosen im Garten (2003) Video: DVD, 13min 53sec. - The ideas behind Rosen im Garten are specific childhood memories, which developed into five video sequences. Each of them portrays my subjective experience. The setting is a farm in Siebeneichen, where I spent my childhood. Around this farm I was searching for places, which reminded me of uncanny experiences: Claustrophobic, mystic-religious and nightmarish states of mind, which I visualised in my video work. My aim is to portray a connection between these psychological conditions and the places in which they arose. In particular I want evoke a similar atmosphere in the viewer.
