This statement sums up the intent of my work. I have an enduring desire to depict the land in such a way that will both evoke an inherent, instinctive love of the land and will cause thought about the delicacy and balance involved in using, preserving and rebuilding it. Wilderness is a utopian ideal, which no longer exists, what we now perceive as wild is rarely truly wild. Ideas such as these lead me to visually explore the idea of what is perceived as a natural environment weighed against our modern technological age.
