Stemming from still-life painting, industrial designand Modernism, my work meditates on interior spaces, abstraction and representation. Intricate, precise andimprovisational, my sculptural works are room scalecollages consisting of cast urethane, plaster,paper-mache, gouache drawings, cut vinyl panels aswell as wood and laminate board constructions.Demonstrating a sensuous enjoyment of materials thesculptures reflect the density and diversity of urbanspace. The cut vinyl pieces are compositions based onvarious highway interchange patterns that are repeatedand flipped. In a search for a space between chaos andorder, the patterns and color choices encourage afluidity and movement within all my work.

My work addresses the curious nexus of Modernistconcerns and consumer design. With references toarchitecture ranging from the sacred (cathedralfloorplan) to the mundane (office cubicle layout, fauxwoodgrain), my work reinvestigates the transitionalperiod during which early 20th century painters suchas Mondrian made their move from nature based imagery to 'pure plastic' abstraction
