Study for Metropolis #8
2007, c-prints, plexiglas, acrylic, wood
7-3/4 x 25-1/2 x 9 inches
My work investigates the relationship between reality in physical space and representation in imagery. Working with photography, sculpture, and installation, I try to reveal physical nature of photograph and decompose and displace the visual frameworks both in everyday life and in the visual arts in order to prompt the viewers to rethink of how we perceive reality. My work also examine the relation between abstraction and photography. Abstractness is an important factor in my work because abstraction doesn’t have any reference in reality beside photography always represent something in reality.
