Because human experience and the body are intrinsically entwined, the internaldesign of the human body fascinates me. And while there are several ways tomake sense of our bodies’ internal workings, my interest lies in the space(s)where nature, fantasy and technology collide.

Recent advances in imaging technology provide new, authoritativeinterpretations of the body’s interior through non-invasive techniques. Informedby such contemporary schematizations – MRI scans, CT scans, x-rays andultrasounds – I reconfigure ‘parts’ to create implausible, ambiguous ‘subjects’or systems. The resultant image is a dialogue between personal, experientialinterpretations or intuitions of the body and more ‘objective’ or empiricalunderstanding of these complex systems.
