Pamela Harris’s drawings examine systems and replication. Systems exist in how we think, feel and process information to how a city or anthill is built. It’s all network; the pattern of what we choose to see sets the system for how we see.

Harris begins with a single mark, an arced piece of code that looks both organic and man made. Following basic principles of construction/genetics she builds a drawing by intuitively repeating the same mark. Vacuums and techno-cellular paths are suggested in the drawings, yet matters of the heart, soul and spirit simultaneously exist in their anxious beauty. Harris’s drawings are both a macro and a microcosm of the whole; they’re holography, an information network devoid of information. Whether constructing or deconstructing, they’re an attempt to measure the immeasurable.
