THE FOCUS OF MY WORK IS THE HUMAN FIGURE.

In that sense it is a kind of portraiture.

The subjects, however, are not individualized portraits.

I am primarily interested in the way human figures appear, in
their posture, and their relation to others.

The nature of my work is non-narrative.

There are no stories there.

I try to freeze on canvas this one short moment a person, in thought, withdraws from a group and, for a split second, feels lost or confused or free.

I study my subjects on accordance of formal considerations, but the result may also reveal psychological dimensions as fear and desire.
