G.G. Marquez 1, 2011
Oil on canvas
75 x 60 cm
Through her paintings, Anna explores how physical distortion of an image of people can represent psychological deformation and abnormality in their lives. She uses crumpled photos to create a distorted image. In her psychological portraits of writers, Anna transforms them in a way that relates to her feelings about the work of that artist. The crumpling means that she has more control over meaning.
