Making an instrument to measure the space between Nothingness and Infinity
Warning: this is a difficult installation. You will probably need an extra person to assist you. But everyone can do it. The result is rewarding.
Take a good look at image A first. Refer to it in case of uncertainties.
1. Obtain a helium (He) canister and lay it down on the floor. To avoid it to roll and move, add two wood wedges (screwed to the floor) on the right side, the top of the canister facing you.
2. Put a fish tank over (as seen in image A). It has to be lifted on one side by the Helium canister. To avoid the tank to slide, put a wood stick on the left bottom edge, screwed to the ground as seen in picture.
3. Install the measurements on the fish tank. You can either write straight away on the glass with a marker pen or, stick printed-paper. From top to bottom, on the left of the tank, the measurements are the following: Grand, Wise, Innocent, Naïve, High. Warning: the measurements begins half the way through the tank (Refer to Image B for clarification)
4. Add water up to “Wise”
5. Install a small container above the tank, hang from the ceiling, 1.5 meter away from the surface of the tank. One hook fixed to the ceiling is good enough to support the container. (see Image C)
6. Add a little tap.
7. Add the second round of measurement, from top to bottom: Eternity, Nothingness
8. Add water, half the way through the container.
9. Open the tap
The water provided by the small container will drip in the fish tank. If the water floods, just let it be. You can smash one side of the fish tank for a better flow.
Now you are in possession of an instrument to measure space between Nothingness and Infinity.
