"If it’s still here, it’s there" is a consideration of waiting. More specifically the series is meant (amongst other notions) to emulate the experience of pausing whilst reading to process and visualize the passage just read. When I read, I stop at points to let things sink in. I wanted the series to be about this pause and ultimately the images would all represent this. I also wanted the images to be something I would actually visualize in that sort of “in between sentences” trance. In the end the photographs are about the reader but also they are the story. The images portray a short story with no actual narrative. They relate to each other but they also function on their own. The series is chronological but visually cyclical so that the viewer continues to move through the images each time picking up on more connections between them.
