Nicole Shimonek (born 1978) is Winnipeg based visual artist. In 2008/09 she completed her Masters in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London, UK and has a BFA (hons) from the University of Manitoba in Canada.
Her work has been included in a number of exhibitions and screenings both nationally and internationally. Nicole's practice is in sculpture, painting, video and performance. Notable exhibitions includes work at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (Canada), Everson Museum of Art (NY), Dover Arts Club (UK), Ace Art Inc., Plug In ICA, Gallery 1C03 and Gallery 111 (Winnipeg). Her videos have screened at the Images Film Festival (Toronto), BBC Big Screens Experimental Shorts (UK), Camden Roundhouse (UK), Harbor front Festival (Toronto), Studio 303 (Montreal), Detroit Museum of New Art (USA), Prairie Scene (Ottawa) and Supermarket Art Fair in Stockholm, Sweden.
