The Kravets/Wehby Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of System, a solo exhibition of paintings by Benjamin Edwards. The show will open on Saturday, April 13th and run through May 11th, 2013.
System is a culmination of the artist’s past four years of work; A series of paintings that deal with re-contextualizing architectural elements. Color planes fracture images that verge on representation and fall away to abstraction in a way that suggests a digital reality. The artist confronts issues surrounding the use and production of technology by creating landscapes of non-real places. Edward’s paintings reflect on changing perceptions of reality and space on an ever-shifting technological landscape.
Benjamin Edwards is a painter based in Washington D.C. His most recent solo exhibition Democracity was held at Tomio Koyama Gallery in Tokyo.
