3rd Ward in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn is proud to present "Suits by 3rd Ward Spring Solo Show Winner, Jeremy Leichman. This sculptural exhibition explores Leichmans fascination with contemporary corporate costume and culture. Leichman reconstructs the corporate machine with sculpture, lights and motors, from the perspective of an unfamiliar civilization. Through this exhibition, Leichman faces his own insecuritieswith choosing a career in the arts and looks with dread at one potential consequence of failure: being swallowed by the corporate beast. This makes for a provocative exhibition of errors, misinterpretations and humor.

3rd Ward founder, Jason Goodman and Eric Singer, Director of music robot collective, LEMUR, went through thousands of submissions to select the artist that best suited the 3rd ward gallery, known for experimentation and cross-disciplinary work. In April, Leichman was awarded a three-month residency at 3rd Ward and a $1,000 grant from Pernod.

Twice a year, 3rd Ward invites artists to submit work from all mediums for the chance to present a solo show at their experimental gallery. The last Solo Show Artists, Nate Green and Owen Schoppe, invited locals to interact with their carousel and vertically over-lapped teeter-totters in their exhibition Vertigoes in December of 2007.

Jeremy Leichman is a sculptor living and working in Brooklyn. He arrived at representational sculpture from a background in furniture design. He has a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in Furniture Design and is a recent graduate of the New York Academy ofArt Graduate School of Figurative Art. His work is driven by the dramatic possibilities of the human form combined with architectural environments and custom designed furnishings. For more information visitwww.leichman.com.

The Gallery at 3rd Ward draws its tone from the creative facilities surrounding it. Be it metalwork or sound, photography or movement, we are always seeking out the grey area between mediums. Collaborations and cross-media work receive the main spotlight, while innovation and humor hold their own. Our role as part of the 3rd Ward team is to support artists in realizing their creative vision. For more information please call 718.715.4961 or visit www.3rdward.com/gallery/.

Kim Holleman,

CIRCA 2012: Ruminations on a Changing World

Exhibition Dates: July 17th – 22nd, 2008
Opening Event: July 17th, 2008. 6 - 11pm
Location: White Box, 525 West 26 Street, New York, NY

New York, NY— Artists Wanted, in collaboration with White Box, is proud to announce the opening of Kim Holleman's Solo Show, CIRCA 2012.

CIRCA 2012: Ruminations on a Changing World is Holleman's apocalyptic vision of the world once man has brought it to its final ruins. The largest element of the exhibition is TRASHNAMI!: a massive-scale cresting tidal wave comprised of trash bags that threatens to engulf the exhibition space. The space will be flagged by several large painted murals and smaller motorized sculptures, which will be operated by the audience during opening night. In addition, Holleman will roll out her winning piece, Trailer Park, a complete 10x14 ft trailer that has been converted into a mobile public park, for the evening.

Holleman's previous solo show took place at Black and White Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and received stellar reviews. Alan Gilbert of The Village Voice says, "The uniqueness—and importance—of Holleman's eco-aesthetics reside in her imaginative attempts to reconcile this awkward relationship."

The opening of CIRCA 2012 will be as unique and bold as the work itself. Artists Wanted and White Box have teamed up with renegade event producers, "TheDanger", to put together a street party opening featuring a flat-bed truck as a stage and DJ's Leonard de la Posso and Big Bully.
