Time + Space: Beginnings
February 4–May 14, 2016
A two-part exhibition that celebrates the Bemis Center's thirty-five years of supporting artists. Featuring artwork by alumni artists-in-residence and archival materials highlighting the rich history of Bemis's home in the Old Market.

Derrick Adams: Crossroad
February 4–May 14, 2016
Brooklyn-based artist Derrick Adams presents an interactive game board sculpture and companion radio station spinning jazz, blues, rock, classic R&B, rap, and pop.

Everyday Static Transmissions
February 4–May 14, 2016
Artist and writer Benjamin Tiven presents his film A Third Version of the Imaginary and related photographs about the video and film library of the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation in Nairobi.

House of Afros, Capes, and Curls: Geek Culture Without Ethnic Boundaries
Friday, March 4, 6pm–9pm
Jade Rogers, Archivist at Great Plains Black History Museum, brings her nomadic night of board games and geekery to the Bemis Center. Presented in conjunction with Crossroad.

Open House/Open Studios
Saturday, March 26, 12pm–4pm
Hear from current artists-in-residence, visit their studios, participate in hands-on activities, and more. A day of fun and creativity for the whole family.

ARTalk: Liveness Is Critical
Thursday, May 5, 6pm–8pm
Artists, curators, and scholars from across the country reflect on their experience as Bemis Center residents, as well as critical issues in the field of contemporary performance. Followed by a live performance.

Dance Party with House of Loom
Saturday, May 14, 2016
House of Loom brings soulful vibes to the Bemis for an indoor dance party featuring deejays Derrick Adams and Brent Crampton.

These programs are FREE and open to the public, and take place at the Bemis's Old Market location unless otherwise noted.
