Nancy Lupo was born in 1983 in Flagstaff, Arizona, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She completed her MFA in sculpture at Yale University, where she was the recipient of the Susan Whedon Award, and received her BFA from The Cooper Union, where she received the Sarah Cooper Hewitt Prize. In 2011-2012, she was a Fountainhead Fellow in Sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University where she curated the exhibition "ON WALLS." This summer (2013) she will be a resident at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Nancy has exhibited her work nationally and internationally at Bétonsalon in Paris, France, Works Sited at Los Angeles Public Library, Portugal Arte 2010, Sight School in Oakland, California, Reynolds Gallery in Richmond, Virginia, and "New Insight" at Art Chicago. Additionally she is the co-founder and co-editor of the forthcoming Masculini, a loose fashion magazine. "Hats and Balls" was partially funded by an emergency grant from The Foundation for Contemporary Art. It is Nancy's first solo exhibition in New York.
