The Phenomenon of our body�s physical experience in the world; a simple touch, a fragrant smell, the sun in our eyes, the sound of bus vibrating past. All of these things bring a phenomenal interaction with the current world.
We live with so many tools to help us navigate our complex environment that I sometimes feel lost from my own physical presence in the world and with my identity. My questions arise from my attempt to find how my physical presence and identity intermingle to help me create my beliefs.

As people entered the space I asked them to step up to a small camera. There face was then projected onto my painted white face. I would then have a conversation with them as they looked at their face projected onto mine.

In this video the projected imageof myself is projected onto painted white version of myself. He turns around and walks away and disappears into the distance, leaving the white figure standing alone. Then from the distance another image of myself walk forward until the image matches the painted person there.

4 (Right TOP) - "Liquid Mythology" - Sept. 2002. SOIL Art Gallery, Seattle, WA. -
Hanging over a school desk is a small projector. The top of the desk has a Paper sized pool of milk. Projected on to this pool of milk is a video of a person writing a story in real time. Under the desk is a bass speaker that vibrates the table when the pen is writing. The writing varies depending on the collaborating writer.

5 (Right Middle) - : Chapter 11: surrounds us without our noticing - 120h x 72w x 96d in, Feb. 2002. Video projection, Plexiglass, Howard House, Seattle, WA , -
A piece of plexiglass is is framed to the floor. The Video image is a figure calmly floating under the piece of plexiglass in a pool of moving water.

6 (Right Bottom) - Myth - 10h x 72w x 48d in, Sept. 2001. Bellevue Art Museum, Bellevue, WA -
A rectangle of sand with a larger mound shape in the middle. A projector above projects an image of the floor underneath the actual sand. The sands physical shape underneath the projection alters the perception of what is being projected investigating the idea behind our perception of reality and belief.

In Maya the water is recycled through water misters that create a moving Video screen of tiny droplets. The water mists from the underside of the umbrella and captures the image of a person standing there holding the umbrella. The water catch basin is made from epoxy and bamboo flooring that mirrors the shape of the rubber coated paper umbrella above. Photo by: Juniper Shuey. In the Collection of Bender. -
