This body of work began with tactile-based impulses that materialized as small pieces, eventually accumulating into a larger connected whole.

The particular materials for Tooth & Nail were chosen as a way to explore and challenge hierarchies of art, craft, and taste. The installation is an experiment in creating a novel system of categorization -- one that is more horizontal and unbiased in its presentation.

The drawings here were created with eyeshadow. The installation's palette of fleshy hues references the body and social constructs of femininity and gender.
