I often take the stereotypical leisure-time activities of women as the starting point for my videos. The Embodiment Workout video follows that pattern. I was drawn to the exercise video genre because of the endless repetition involved in following along to the point of mastery, the sense of accomplishment provided by this mastery, the physical exertion and the endorphin rush of a good workout.

Ventriloquism, lip-synching, and appropriation all play subversive roles in the post-feminist retro-spoof, Consciousness, Understanding N Trust (C.U.N.T.). In it I play a quirky cast of characters including Betty Crocker brunettes, soap-opera blondes, and air-head redheads as they become aware of their collective subjugation as women.

In the video, I act as them, wearing their clothes, mimicking their gestures, sitting in their respective homes, and lip-synching their words.
