These works depict dramatic yet ambiguous narratives that take place in utopian vacation spots or sunny metropoles reminiscent of cities such as Miami or Los Angeles. The scenes play on the contemporary melodramas typical of TV cop shows, soap operas, �reality� shows and popular video games. I want to inject into these otherwise stereotypical scenes an element of genuine drama and underlying dysfunction, thus converting scenarios of popular fiction into tangible scenes of a disturbing reality. I want to make a beautifully chaotic world of contradictions and confusion, where violence lurks at every corner and survival is the ultimate goal.
