CONTEXT : Began Art College in 1986, but found it a restricting and claustrophobic experience so did not persevere with art education. Continued to created art in private. Travelled the UK 1988-92 to find inspiration within ‘commonplace life’ away from the 'guarded' impersonal language of high art. http://littenearly1990s.weebly.com/ Aiming to convey an emotive poignancy in representations of the ordinary; this small scale humanistic work was a deliberate contrast to established contemporary art which at the time was dominated by the ambitious surge of the YBA's. Created work under differing names and also lived under different names to intentionally obscure notions of authorship, self-hood and ambition.
