When Aurelius Augustine (�Saint� for those to whom it matters) suggested that in being �told� we learn nothing- just recollect what we already know, we come to recognise the �verbal� paradox of language. And yet it does reveal something to us- our captivity in its use.
Much later when language became matter(full), we took up occupation and built ourselves a home in poetry and a prison in the law (Actus Reus) and yet we must come to both through the same matter- on two sides- recto verso (right and the �other� side of right), the �here� of the writer and the �there� of the reader/s.

And then there is photography, the antidote for tabula rasa, a miracle we are captured by and in- its delusion- Fata Morgana, the promised land of SLR, justifying and squaring the curious curvature of our world and eyeballs� binocular vision.
The literal congruence of these realms faces you, undressed by light. This preposterous echo is an amorous encounter, the subjectile* of our compassion. Yours for the taking.
