Stone currently lives and works in London. An MA Graduate of Central Saint Martins, he was awarded a British Academy, Arts and Humanities Research Board: Full Bursary. In 2012 he was awarded a Departure Foundation: Full Studio Bursary, 2012-13. In 2011 he was selected for the Threadneedle Prize and shortlisted for both the Galerie8 Prize and Title Art Prize.

Recent solo exhibitions include: new portrait capes, The Horse Hospital, London (2012); a walk at dusk and dawn, Burgh House, London (2012); idir eathara, Tank Gallery, London (2011); reenactment of a memorial, Madame Lillie's Gallery, London (2010) Richard Stone and Rosanna Greaves, Schwartz Gallery, London (joint) (2010) and the parlour, a site specific exploration of a Georgian Terrace in East London (2010).
