Raoul De Keyser To Walk 22.Juni – 25. August 2012 Eröffnung Donnerstag 21.Juni, 18–21 Uhr Öffnungszeiten Di–Sa, 11–18 Uhr Die Galerie Barbara Weiss freut sich die Ausstellung To Walk mit 17 neuen Werken des international renommierten belgischen Malers Raoul De Keyser anzukündigen. Zur Ausstellung erscheint ein Katalog mit einem Text des belgischen Autors Paul De Moor. Raoul De Keyser führt den Betrachter entlang einer Reihe von kleinformatigen Ölbildern, die sich im ständigen Prozess entfalten. Angefangen mit Gate, 2011, einem schwarz umfassten blauen Tor auf weißem Grund bis zu Untitled, 2012, einer sichtbar auf Holz montierten Leinwand, verweisen die Gemälde auf die unmittelbare Umgebung des Künstlers und hinterlassen eine Vielfalt von eminenten, aber auch subtilen Empfindungen. Raoul De Keyser, der oft als ’painter’s painter’ bezeichnet wird, hatte zahlreiche Einzelausstellungen in renommierten Institutionen wie dem Kunstmuseum Bonn, dem Portikus, Frankfurt/Main, der Kunsthalle Bern, The Renaissance Society, Chicago, der Whitechapel Gallery, London und dem Kunstmuseum St.Gallen. Raoul De Keyser To Walk June 22 – August 25 2012 Opening Thursday June 21, 6–9 pm Gallery hours, Tue–Sa, 11 am – 6 pm Galerie Barbara Weiss is pleased to announce the exhibition, To Walk, presenting 17 new works by the internationally acclaimed Belgian painter Raoul De Keyser. A catalogue will accompany the exhibition with a text by Belgian writer Paul De Moor. Raoul De Keyser’s new assemblage of works takes us through a series of modestly scaled oil paintings of successive images in process. Beginning with Gate, 2011, a blue entryway with a black frame on white ground and finalizing with Untitled, 2012, a canvas partially mounted on wood, the paintings draw from the artist’s surroundings leaving us with a sublime yet subtle multiplicity of sensations. Raoul De Keyser, often referred to as a 'painter’s painter', has had many important solo exhibitions in renowned institutions including Kunstmuseum Bonn, Portikus, Frankfurt/Main, Kunsthalle Bern, The Renaissance Society, Chicago, Whitechapel Gallery, London and Kunstmusem St.Gallen.
