"Do crack heads and painters have something in common ?" "What is painting about these days ?" Rock meets Chic and let�s see where the painters lead us in their trip while under the adrenaline of their own painting. With artists such as Dado, Peter Saul, Kosta Kulundzic, Jer�me Zonder and Axel Phalavi, the show explores the practice of painting, the feeling induced and what it is to break the limits... DEFINITION / �Chase the dragon� : Hong Kong slang. From the time of Opium den, the term refers to inhaling the smoke from heated drug placed on a piece of foil; term now considered as more complex. From the first high, to the impression of intense euphoria, everything one can to obtain that same �high� as the first drug try out. Chase the dragon Vernissage le 8 Janvier, 2011 de 18h � 21h jusqu�au 26 F�vrier, 2011 Chase the Dragon : les peintres sont ils sous la m�me pression que ces drogu�s dans les fumeries d�opium qui ne pouvaient plus s�arr�ter. Avec des artistes comme Dado, Peter Saul, Kosta Kulundzic, Jer�me Zonder and Axel Phalavi, l�exposition, � la fois chic et rock, explore les limites de la peinture, les �motions de la cr�ation et le fait de d�passer ses limites. De jeunes peintres ayant le vent en poupe d�cident de se confronter � leurs ain�s et � leurs d�mons. Chase the Dragon propose les regards de plusieurs artistes sur le d�passement de soi. DEFINITION / �Chasser le dragon� : expression emprunt�e � l�argot de Hong Kong du temps des fumeries d�opium, d�signant au d�part la m�thode consistant � inhaler les vapeurs d�h�ro�ne, de coca�ne, ou de toute autre drogue, chauff�e, la plupart du temps, sur une feuille d�aluminium par le dessous. |
