Winner of the Ir�ne Reymond Foundation Prize and Swiss Artists in Lab Programme Prize in 2009, he exhibited his mortadella skull at the Museum Maillol in Paris during the exhibition Vanities! From Caravage to Damien Hirst. He has also been seen atthe abbey-church of Bellelay. Creator of metaphoric and wonderful worlds, Christian Gonzenbach works around the Vanities with audacity. This work is the result of two residencies in Shanghai, supported by the Ailing Foundation. It shows the photographer's fascination for migrants� pressures. Piles of products labeled �Made in China� are stacked up to produce quite unusual sculptures, symbols of the Chineses' a ever increasing fetish withobjects. |
