Sleeveface The official website of Sleeveface, www.sleeveface.com, defines the art of Sleevefacing as "one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s) causing an illusion". In layman's terms, this means that you, the Sleevefacer, goes to his or her record collection and weeds out any records with sleeves featuring faces or body parts. You then hold that sleeve up in front of the relevant face or body part and bingo, your body has Kylie's face or, in one particularly amusing case, your dog has Barbra Streisand's face. The art of Sleevefacing was invented in Cardiff by a couple of DJs bored between songs. Since it's birth, they've seen their art travel to the furthest reaches of the Earth and all the way onto This Morning with Eamonn Holmes and culture 'expert', Paul Ross. This exhibition collates some of the best Sleevefaces supersized for your amusement. Dal clawr record lan o flaen eich corff a cymryd llun ydi'r disgrifiad syml o Sleeveace. Mae'r llunie sydd wedi troi lan ar sleeveface.com yn anhygoel; mae'r syniad wedi gweld twf enfawr mewn creadigrwydd o ddefnyddio feinyl ac mae'r arddangosfa yma, y cyntaf erioed, mynd i fod yn wych. |
