MARIE LELOUCHE Exposition personnelle en deux volets #1 Korean Landscape 14.01.12 | 11.02.12 Vernissage samedi 14 janvier 2012 de 15h à 21h De retour de Corée du Sud, Marie Lelouche investit la galerie Alberta Pane avec une exposition en deux volets directement inspirée par ses séjours au pays du matin calme (résidences au Goyang Art Studio en 2010 et au Nanji art studio en 2011). Cette jeune artiste française, née en 1984 et diplômée de l'Ensba en 2008, s'est spécialisée dans l'art raffiné du verre soufflé et de la porcelaine, qu'elle confronte à d'autres matériaux bruts comme le tissus ou le bois, interrogeant les limites de la matière pour en extraire des formes uniques. Par le voyage, Marie Lelouche s'immerge dans des contextes socioculturels différents de ceux qu'elle a l'habitude de fréquenter, afin de conditionner sa pratique. Véritable exote – selon la définition de Victor Segalen – l'artiste fait l'expérience du divers et du différent de soi pour atteindre une liberté vis-à-vis de l'objet qu'elle décrit ou ressent. L'observation participante et l'expérience, comme supports de création, sont au coeur de sa pratique artistique. Dans le premier volet de l'exposition "Korean landscape", Marie Lelouche a choisi de présenter une nouvelle série de pièces résultant de techniques diverses – dessin mural, verre soufflé, porcelaine, installation – qui développent les différentes facettes de la notion de paysage. A la manière d'une architecte anthropologue, l'artiste a mené une réflexion profonde sur les rites et coutumes de Corée du sud, s'intéressant plus particulièrement à Chuseok, la fête des récoltes. - Coming back from her trip to South Korea, Marie Lelouche sweeps Alberta Pane Gallery with a double exhibition, inspired from her stay in the Land of the Morning Calm, (Goyang Art Studio 2010 and Nanji art studio 2011). This young French artist, born in 1984 and graduated in 2008 from Ensba (Paris), is specialized in the sophisticated arts of blown glass and porcelain, which she combined to raw materials, such as fabric or wood, by questioning the material limits to derive unequaled shapes. During her travels, Marie Lelouche plunges herself into cultural and social contexts very far from what she usually knows, in order to actively influence her artistic practice. Real exote - as Victor Segalen defined it - the artist experiences the different and the other to reach a full freedom in the observation of the object she will describe or just feel. The participating observance and the experience, as means of creation, are at the heart of her artistic practice. For the first section of the exhibition, Marie Lelouche has decided to present a brand new series of objects in various techniques, drawings, sculptures and installations, developing the many features of the idea of Landscape, as an architect-anthropologist, dealing with a profound reflection on rituals, traditions and values of South Korea. |
