Moyra Davey Opens 6.30 to 8.30pm Saturday the 17th of September 2011 Exhibition runs until 29th October 2011 11am to 6pm Tuesday to Saturday greengrassi is pleased to announce Moyra Davey’s first solo show at the gallery. The artist will present a series of poster-sized prints that have been folded and mailed to the gallery. The show also includes a new film “Les Goddesses” (2011) about Mary Wollstonecraft, an Eighteenth-century British writer, philosopher, and advocate of women's rights. Moyra Davey was born in Canada in 1958 and currently lives and works in New York. She will be featured in the 2011-12 "New Photography" exhibition at the MoMA, New York. He recent solo exhibition includes "Speaker Receiver" at the Kunsthalle Basel (2010). She participated in group shows at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid (2010), The Art Institute of Chicago (2010), The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (2008). She was part of the collective that started the NewYork artist-run gallery Orchard (2005-2008). Davey is a 2004–05 recipient of an Anonymous Was a Woman award.
