Tintype is delighted to present Open Close Thing by CIAN McCONN in collaboration with EVE VAUGHAN, VIVIENNE GRIFFIN and KASPERS GROSHEVS.
Open Close Thing takes the form of two book-end performance events: Open on 9 January; Close on 2 February.
Between the performances the gallery will be ‘set dressed’ – a ghost imprint of what has happened and what could happen in the space: a tableau in which the opposites optimism and nihilism, life and death, joy and sorrow are teased out.
Working with print, collage, video and performance, McConn explores and exposes the meeting point of the self and the world. Like a series of jump cuts – satirical, irreverent, absurd – his work places and displaces the logic of individuality and perception.
OPEN with Eve Vaughan / 9 January ongoing performance from 6pm to 8.30pm P E R F O R M P O S I T I V E V I B R A T I O N S Happiness Hello
