Premiering at the Museum of Modern Art and PS1 in New York on March 1, 2007, Abbas Kiarostami: Image Maker comprises 33 short and feature films, two media installation works, and a comprehensive exhibition of photographs featuring selections from Snow White (1978-2003) and Roads (1978-2003), Rain (2006) and Trees and Crows (2006) as well as the installation Summer Afternoon (2006).
This in depth exhibition has inspired a broad education program with participation of Abbas Kiarostami including a 9-day Master Class on film making at the Hunter College Department of Film and Media as well as screenings and discussions at Princeton University and Bard College.
Abbas Kiarostami: Image Maker will travel to the University of California Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive on July 8 and the Los Angeles County Museum in Fall 2007. Concurrently in November 2007, Southeast Museum of Photography will host an extensive exhibition of Abbas Kiarostami's four photographic series.
