Galleri Tom Christoffersen is a gallery for contemporary art in Copenhagen. We collaborate with international artists, curators and galleries.
Our scope of interest is broad, but our aim is narrow: To show what we find relevant for the on-going debate and discussion of art as culture as well as a commodity.
Both emerging and already recognized artists collaborate with Galleri Tom Christoffersen. The represented artists are: Thomas Bangsted (DK/US), Claus Carstensen (DK), Alexandra Croitoru (RO), Elmer (DK), Ib Geertsen (DK), James Jessop (UK), Alexander Laner (DE), Marie Søndergaard Lolk (DK), Henrik Menné (DK), Mogens Møller (DK), Mie Mørkeberg (DK), Bodil Nielsen (DK), Allan Otte (DK), Krista Rosenkilde (DK), Christian Skeel (DK), Anna Sørensen (DK), Christian Vind (DK). The artists work in a variety of media and demonstrate very different approaches to art. Some work conceptually involving both art history and everyday life while others tend to be more concrete. Some operate explicitly in a political, psychological or social field and others perform systematic investigations into especially sculpture and painting. Most artists have conducted challenging commissions and are represented in both museums and important private collections.
Galleri Tom Christoffersen collaborates with international curators, galleries and art institutions and frequently invites art critics and art historians to write texts about solo exhibitions. Temporary collaborations with artists not represented by the gallery are performed in the small but essential project space called Cube. Cube is primarily reserved to artists just entering the scene or operating on the fringe of it.
Tom Christoffersen opened the gallery in 2002 at its current location, which is in the centre of Copenhagen.
