Photographic series shot in New Zealand 2007
Images intend to show a less than heroic view of this renowned landscape. Rather than epic vistas these images depicted human interventions in the landscape. Natural elements such as light and fog transform these otherwise mundane dwelling
found in areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Shot at night in an unfamiliar landscape
the camera searches for evidence. Roaming
and resting momentarily on objects that
emerge out of the darkness visual information
begins to define the space. A sound track of
cricket song further locates he work as a
specific place in time.

One day (text on adjacent wall of gallery space)
Its Sunday morning, the phone rings.
Her calls have become more frequent
since my last visit, once every seven
days. She talks about her garden, the
constant battle with the falling leaves.
I look out my window, a still blue clear
sky. It is approaching summer here,
there are dandelions everywhere.

One day is shot over the period of a day using
dandelion paperweight as an inverted camera to
reflect the change in light and activity witness on
street below. Time is both compressed and extended, motion speed up and slowed down. In its duration 15mins, 8 hours of filming is edited into a continuous shot giving the illusion of real time.
