Picture This Writing Residency 2010

The Picture This Writing residency is an opportunity for a non-Bristol based writer / curator to spend one month developing new written work. We are looking for a writer / curator who would be interested in basing themselves here while developing two new texts; one relating to their own interests and one responding to a Picture This artist moving image commission from our archive. The residency offers the time and space to focus on writing within the supportive context of Picture This, with the result of new work which generates a lively dialogue between our recent archive and wider contemporary visual art practice.
As a pilot project, this opportunity is offered as a research period with accommodation and workspace included. Neighbouring the Spike Island gallery and studio complex and taking place at the same time as a visual artist residency and an exhibition in our Atelier space, we hope this residency provides a stimulating setting for a writer / curator to produce new work and engage with other practitioners.
The texts produced will be showcased and available to download from the library section on our website.

Fee: £1000 inclusive of travel.
Dates: 1 month between 20 July - 31 August 2010
