Unselected exhibition, which has led the field in hang the lot aesthetics since 1984.
Hundreds of small and various works at affordable prices, the legendary Cafe Gallery Open Exhibition, representing all artists, consolidates its position as the summer exhibition!
Our emphasis continues to be on the display of small works, accessible to the public. Thereby, the exhibition retains its original intention, maintaining a tradition of a well established annual event.
Submission Dates: Saturday 23 - Sunday 24 July 12pm-6pm.
Preview: Sunday 31 July, 2pm-5pm.
Exhibition: Wednesday 03 - Sunday 14 August.
Times: Weds-Sun, 12pm-6pm.
Venue: Cafe Gallery, Southwark Park, London, SE16 2UA.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
Most importantly, there will be no advance application forms. Works must be delivered directly to Cafe Gallery. Another person can deliver your work provided that they have your written permission for the works to be entered and they have the correct information to complete the Entry Form (Artist's name, address, Title(s) of the work, number of copies if it is an edition, artist's contact details, sale price inclusive of 33% gallery commission, payment in cash or by cheque).
Works from the same artist will not be hung together. In the event of there being more work submitted than can be accommodated, each artist will be represented in the exhibition.
Up to 3 two-dimensional works can be submitted. Two dimensional work must be no larger than 635mm (25 inches) in width, length or depth (including frame). Works must be ready to hang with wire or mirror plates (we are sorry but we cannot accept clip frames). All works will be rigorously measured when submitted. No exceptions will be made.
One three-dimensional work can be submitted. Three-dimensional work must be no larger than 635mm (25 inches) in width, length or depth (including plinth if supplied). All works will be rigorously measured when submitted. No exceptions will be made.
Video works must be supplied looped (this means that the DVD must be programmed to automatically loop without relying on the loop feature of the DVD player) with a 14 inch combo unit (14inch TV with built in DVD player). Only ONE combo unit can be supplied by each artist. The limit of 3 works still pertains (i.e A maximum of three works in video can be looped onto one tape). No exceptions will be made.
Each work submitted must be labelled with Name, Address, Title, Date and Price (inclusive of 33% gallery commission).
FEES: The submission fees must be paid in cash or by cheque (sorry, but we have no facilities to accept any form of payment by card) at the time of submission and are as follows:
FULL PRICE: £6.00 per piece submitted.
CONCESSIONS: £5.00 per piece submitted.
PAID-UP MEMBERS OF THE BERMONDSEY ARTISTS' GROUP / FRIENDS OF CGP LONDON SCHEME: £6.00 irrespective of whether 1, 2 or 3 works are submitted.
IMPORTANT: Regarding collection of work
All works must be collected by 4pm on TUESDAY, 16th AUGUST 2011.
Uncollected work will be disposed of on 17th August 2011. We are sorry but, due to a lack of space for storage, ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE.
The collection dates are:
Sun, 14th August from 12 – 6pm, Mon, 15th August from 11am – 4pm and Tue, 16th August between 11am – 4pm
Make sure that you can collect on these dates BEFORE you submit work for the Open Exhibition.
