The Passion for Freedom Competition

We are delighted to announce PASSION FOR FREEDOM FESTIVAL 2011, which takes place at UNIT24 Gallery London, next to the Tate Modern from 29 October till 5 November.
The INTERNATIONAL ART COMPETITION is in its third year and is growing stronger. This year's edition will present selected works from artists and writers whose work is mainly concerned with human rights and one secular law for all citizens and artists selected from an open submission.

Information for Artists
Passion for Freedom invites submissions from visual artists involved in practice of painting, sculpture, drawing, print, photography, mixed media, installation and video. Deadline 30 September 2011. Please find detailed information, Submission Form, Terms and Conditions on our website.
Among invited Judges are:
- Polly Toynbee is a columnist for the Guardian. She was formerly BBC social affairs editor, columnist and associate editor of the Independent, co-editor of the Washington Monthly and a reporter and feature writer for the Observer
- prof. Francisco Laranjo is Head of School of Arts and Associate Professor of Porto University and has been lecturer in many Universities in cities such as Bilbao, Ottawa, Sheffield, Alexandria, Sofia, Paris and Athens. As an artist, he has exhibited extensively and in several countries: Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Canada, India, United Kingdom, China among others.
- Deeyah - is a Norwegian singer, music producer, composer, film maker and human rights activist of Punjabi/Pashtun descent. She adopted the name Deeyah in 2002. She is often called the Muslim Madonna.

Passion for Freedom Festival - a week long event celebrating freedom of speech and artistic expression, one secular law for all citizens, democratic values, secular society, gender equality and freedom to choose a sexual partner.
The non-profit festival is run by a very small group of passionate people committed to protecting our freedom and equality in modern, democratic society. They spend their own money and time to make it happen. Although we are supported by One Law for All organization and few generous private donors we are striving to develop the Festival and deliver the message to the wider international community.
