Fixed term post from 1 February to 31 December 2013
£28,138 per annum pro rata
Deadline: December 20, 2012
The Courtauld Institute of Art Research Forum, with the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, is offering a fellowship to a scholar who has recently been awarded a PhD in Art History from The Courtauld Institute of Art, to pursue a research project and to gain experience in working in a research environment, developing, organising and promoting the activities of the Research Forum, particularly within the postgraduate community. The candidate will draw on his/her knowledge of the on-going research projects taking place within the Courtauld’s Research Forum and knowledge of research priorities of Courtauld staff and students. This is a full-time post divided between research and administration; it does not involve any teaching. Where teaching commitments are in place either at The Courtauld or elsewhere, these will have to be renegotiated. This will enhance the appointee’s curriculum vitae and advance their prospects of obtaining other research awards and posts within the academic community. Applicants must have received their doctorate within two years prior to the start date of the Fellowship, and the doctorate must have been completed or passed with minor corrections required by 14 December 2012.
Applicants are asked to submit (1) a covering letter explaining the candidate’s specific interest in the Fellowship; (2) a completed application form; (3) a letter of recommendation from the candidate’s supervisor - this can be sent separately; and (4) an equal opportunities monitoring form.
