Call for artists, illustrators, performers and workshop leaders for Asia Elects, part of the Art Licks Weekend
Duriana, a small fragrant country in Asia, is holding its elections in early October. London-based organisation Art Licks will be hosting the Duriana Elections as part of their Art Licks Weekend (3rd to 6th October, http://artlicksweekend.com/event/asia-elects/ . The Duriana Electoral Commission invites artists to propose new or existing works about elections. Please send proposal text and upto 5 images to [email protected].
We are also looking for performance artists who would be interested in taking part in performative events with a politically satirical edge across the Art Licks Weekend (3rd - 6th October). Email [email protected] with proposals for political or election themed performances including links to relevant video documentation of past performances. Performances must be adaptable for a Durianan setting and audience.
Workshop leaders interested in hosting performative workshops suitable for children, their parents, the general electorate and politicians across the Art Licks Weekend are invited to submit their ideas. If successful, the Duriana Electoral Commission will be happy to host them during their election weekend. Photos with politicians will be mandatory. Deadline for all submissions is ASAP or at the very latest 12 noon on Sunday 15th September, however, the earlier you get your submissions in the better.
Call for actors for Asia Elects, part of the Art Licks Weekend
Duriana, a small fragrant country in Asia, is holding its elections in early October. London-based organisation Art Licks will be hosting the Duriana Elections as part of their Art Licks Weekend (3rd to 6th October, http://artlicksweekend.com/event/asia-elects/).
The Duriana Electoral Commission would like to employ actors (ideally of Asian appearance due to the subject matter of the exhibition, but ability more important) to entertain and beguile our voting public. It would be helpful if you were interested in politics of a particularly South East Asian flavour. Improvisational skills would be helpful. Please send any video of past performance work, or video of you performing something you feel might be appropriate to the brief (no longer than 5 minutes if possible please) to [email protected]. A small fee may be available, but this is to be confirmed. Actors would need to be available from 3rd to 6th October.
