CALL FOR RESIDENCIES and CALL FOR VIDEO SUBMISSIONS

Some updates from the Impakt Headquarters! We're looking forward to the year and have two calls out for artists.
Soft Machines Curators
The selection process for external festival curators is currently underway. The curators will shape the programme for the Impakt Festival 2014 'Soft Machines (working title): Where the Optimized Human Meets Artificial Empathy' which will be held from 29 October – 2 November 2014.
In addition, we're also opening a call to international artists to apply for the Impakt Works residency programme in Utrecht. We encourage projects connected to the Soft Machines theme. These residencies will take place between April and October. Read more on the submission guidelines here. Deadline for proposals: 1 April 2014.
NEWS: Impakt Festival and Panorama Festival
Impakt will be separating two festival components in 2014. The thematic Impakt Festival will be held in the autumn as usual (29/10-02/11) and will feature lectures, screenings, exhibitions, music and more. The Panorama programme, a fresh and wide-angled overview of recent media and video arts, will be reconstituted as an independent summer event.
Open Call for Submissions: Panorama
For the Panorama Programme Impakt is on the lookout for experimental, short, single channel videos. Works can be submitted until 1 May 2014. Read more about Panorama and the submission guidelines here.
Furthermore, monthly, themed events will help us all warm up for the Soft Machine programme. Together with interesting speakers, we will reflect on social themes and how they impact us – from fictive future projections and artistic extrapolationss to scientific talks.
