The EAFS team is beginning the process of developing work for the 2015 festival. To do this we want to work collaboratively with creative people and communities of interest. EAFS 2015 will connect South West Scotland to national and international locations therefore we are particularly seeking proposals that involve some form of journey to the festival.
The Commissioned Artworks
The commissioned artworks might comprise a journey, an event, an installation, an art happening. They might involve structure, visual art, design, architecture, sound or performance or a combination of these disciplines. We are interested in work that involves making across different disciplines and technologies and ideas of sharing and potentially leaving something behind. The artwork should culminate in Dumfries and Galloway as part of EAFS 2015 (28 – 30 August).

EAFS will develop, create and support experiences that allow direct engagement with place and land through the arts. EAFS will encourage future thinking and practical action about new ways of living.
ABOUT
Art Festival Scotland (EAFS) is a biennial arts festival in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. The inaugural EAFS happened in late summer 2013 and was produced by three leading arts organisations working in partnership: Wide Open, Spring Fling and The Stove Network. Key to the success of EAFS is collaborative and cross-disciplinary working. The EAFS team in 2013 worked with local, national and international artists, designers, producers and local communities to commission, curate, fund, co-fund and produce over 30 installations, exhibitions, talks, workshops around the themes of land, environment, and sustainability. EAFS has grown out of a long-term ambition for Dumfries & Galloway to become the international home for environmental art building on the pedigree and projects and artists connected to the region such as Andy Goldsworthy’s Striding Arches, Charles Jenck’s Garden of Cosmic Speculation and Dalziel and Scullion’s Rosnes Bench. EAFS 2015 will happen in a location (TBC) in Dumfries and Galloway over 28, 29, 30 August.
