We invite you to submit your work to the 14th DongGang International Photo Festival, to be held this year from 24th July to 4th October in DongGang, Yeonwol, Korea.
' Life is Beautiful', the main themed and open call titled.
Life is Janus with two faces. Lights and shadows always come together.
In the arts faithful to “now and here”, we can reawaken our sensitivity numbed while adapting to or resisting the ever-changing environments. Nonchalantly or cruelly, the arts explore love for life and telltale desperation.
Submissions must be photographic or lens-based but can include incorporations of other art forms with the photographic medium (i.e. video, performance, painting, sculpture, music, mixed media etc). Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply; individuals should select and enter between six and ten photographs from a particular series or body of work Between 6 and 10 photographers / artists will benefit from:
- award, the winner
- the winners will be eligible for travel and accommodation
- production (printing, framing or related presentation material)
- exhibition exposure at the Festival's main exhibition space/outdoor
- inclusion in art magazine and any related press
- long term festival representation and promotion on official website
- publications/ catalog
- being seen by a substantial number of visual arts professionals and the media
- having their work viewed by an international panel of influential experts in the field of photography
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. GENERAL
Objectives
DongGang International Photo Festival aims to feature a quality selection of photography projects from around the world. Festival’s open call is devoted to offering a platform and supporting photography, showcasing ‘new’ photography and related media from emerging and established artists.
Venue
The selected projects will be presented to DongGang International Photo Festival in DongGang in main exhibition space, screening or outdoor space.
Dates
The Main Program of DongGang International Photo Festival 2015 will be held from July 24 to Oct 4, 2015.
Eligibility
Submission to DongGang International Photo Festival 2015 is open to artists, collectives, archives, galleries and organizations from around the world.
Entry Deadline
Submissions must be made before 5th May 2015, 00.00 hrs.
There is no entry fee for submissions
2.HOW TO SUBMIT
Submissions
must Include – BODY OF WORK: 6~10 digital images in Jpeg format, no more than 1mb each.
CURRICULUM VITAE: A concise one-page CV and other relevant biographical information (PDF)
A short write up about the body of work, no more than 400 words.
How to Enter
DongGang International Photo Festival only accepts online submission through its website. Any incomplete submissions will be rejected.
Receipt Confirmation
Upon receipt, an email confirmation will be sent to the email specified in the application form.
3. SELECTED PROJECTS
Selection
All submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the curatorial team of the Festival.
Status Notification
All artists will be notified on website and by email of their submission status by 12, May 2015 at the latest.
Exhibition
DongGang International Photo Festival will collect the digital files from selected artists and all production will be provided for the exhibitions.
Publicity
The selected projects will be presented on the Festival’s website and be part of the Festival’s promotional campaign in print and online media, increase awareness of the selected works in the photography community.
