The British School at Rome - Sargant Fellowship for Architects, 2009–10
Deadline: 14 October 2009
THE SARGANT FELLOWSHIP FOR 2009–10 is a unique opportunity for an established or mid-career architect to engage with Rome and the community of the British School at Rome for three months.
THE FELLOWSHIP IS ONE OF THE SENIOR and most prestigious residencies offered by the British School at Rome. The award is made annually to a distinguished artist or architect, to enable them to research and make work within the historical context of Rome. For 2009–10 it has been decided to offer this opportunity exclusively to those working within the field of architecture. It is hoped that the Sargant Fellow will take an interest in the work of other resident architects and artists.
THE FELLOWSHIP OFFERS a spacious residential studio with en-suite facilities, full board at the School, a grant of £2,000 per month and a travel allowance of £500. It is tenable April–June 2010.
APPLICANTS MUST BE of British or Commonwealth nationality, or have been living in the UK or Commonwealth for at least the last three years.
SELECTION FOR THIS FELLOWSHIP is by members of the School’s Faculty of the Fine Arts (currently Eliza Bonham Carter, Sonia Boyce, William Cobbing, Jamie Fobert, Ann Gallagher, John Gill (Chair), Tania Kovats, Vivien Lovell, Denis Masi, Robert Tavernor, Aaron Williamson and Alistair Wilson).
